Kahn/Akther Family Fire Relief Fund

Donation protected
On Sunday, May 19, 2019 around 5:00 am, a tragic fire burnt 8 buildings in Albany, NY, resulting in approximately 40 people becoming homeless. Two of the families affected by fire are in my first grade class. Both families had recently immigrated from Bangladesh and continue to work hard to build a better life in the United States for their families. The Kahn family owned one of the buildings that was completely lost in the fire, and they unfortunately do not have home owners insurance. Mr. and Mrs. Kahn have two children (9 and 6). The Akther family rented an apartment in another building that was completely lost as well and unfortunately do not have renter's insurance. Mr. and Mrs. Akther have 3 daughters (11, 7, and 2).

Both families have lost all of their material possessions and their homes.  The money will go towards housing, clothing, food, and other basic necessities. Both families are currently homeless and struggling to rebuild their lives.

Any donation will be appreciated. Thank you for your support.
