Kahanu Delovio's World Tour Race

Kahanu Delovio an 18 years old professional surfer from the Big Island of Hawaii,  has the amazing opportunity to surf her way into the World Surf League, as a paid surfing professional. Kahanu is hard working at her talents, training, and schooling when she is on island, or traveling the world, on her own dime. Kahanu is also a big sister to 6 brothers and sister, and plays a big role in helping her two parents manage the life of a big family. Kahanu's parents are both retired hard working Marines, who give their children all the resources they need to chase their dreams, and have taught their chidren to work hard, like they did, to have great things in life. Her parents are now dedicated pastors to the community. Because they have a large responsibility with their mission, they are needed at home and are  unable to travel with Kahanu, so she goes out there, gives it her all, courageously with out the comforts and of home.  Having a large family means funds are limmited, however, Kahanu never let that stop her. She always worked around the clock to send herself to the next contest, flying overseas to put her best foot forward. With this opportunity, Kahanu is unable to travel and work at the same time so we are hoping for your gracious support, to help her embrase her talent, send her on her way and watch her shine. She is described by her peers as the most "deserving, hard working surfers in the game, who has been under-rated for much too long".  "Kahanu is one of brightest and kindest people I have ever met, or ever will. I know she will suceed, no matter what."

Last month Kahanu was surfing the Super Girl Pro, earning the second highest single wave total, and the highest heat total of the entire contest. Kahanu has so many accomplishments, that it would be hard to list, but to name a few:
•Second at the Volcom Tour
•Second in the Nation
•Hawaii Island State Champion
•Hawaii Island Qualifing Series Champion
•Third at Pipe Pro
•Shane Dorian Keiki Classic Champion
•GPA 3.87
•Only surfer to sore a perfect 10 the Pipe Pro, Super Girl, Surfing America National Champion ship, as well as Hawaii Island Qualifing series Championships, that's just to name a few...

Most surfers on tour, or on the qualfing series have the funds avaliable from family or sponsors to be jet set and chase their dreams. Kahanu has so far earned every bit of her travels, with out the help of a main sponsor,  by working in down time, saving every penny, as well as training, going to school, volunteering in her community, helping her brothers and sisters, all while staying dedicated to her passion. This has taken a toll on her physically and mentally as she is pushing her limits towards exaustion, doing all she can to stay on track, yet only falling behind because of funding. It's never been about a lack of talent, drive, or passion that Kahanu hasn't already made it as a paid professaional.
With this campaign, we are trying to raise funds so that she can focus all her attention on her surfing, competing, and traveling towards her dreams. We will be giving gifts, painting, shirts, and things back to those who choose to support and encourage this beautiful soul.
