Help Memorialize K9 Officer Joseph Crowder

The City of Boynton Beach and JKM Developers have joined to rename Boynton Village Dog Park after recently deceased Boynton Beach Police Department K9 Officer Joseph Crowder. The Dog Park will be renamed, “Officer Joseph Crowder Dog Park” to memorialize Officer Crowder.  Officer Crowder was a 14 year veteran of the Boynton Beach Police Department, who proudly served our country as a staff sergeant in the US Army.  He was the father of 2 young boys.

We are raising money with the City of Boynton Beach Community for the brilliant sculptor, Lena Toritch to add a life size bronze statue of Officer Crowder’s K9 Partner to the Dog Park.

Joe Crowder passed away from a medical episode on an evening in December of 2016.  Joe was a truly kind, dedicated and courageous police officer.  Officer Joe Crowder was a quiet man, but thoughtful and firm when he spoke.  The Boynton Beach Community loved him, and the criminals…despised him.  Joe Crowder epitomized what Boynton Beach Police Chief Jeffrey Katz says he looks for in a police officer, and what his loved ones could only wish for in a family member.

He would joke around with citizens, but would immediately focus with a sense of determination, when it was time to work.

He is missed by his family, the Police Department and the Community.
