Bailey's Battle against EWing Sarcoma

Donation protected
My beautiful great niece Bailey Eich is in the middle of the biggest battle of her life, and she is only 19 years old.

Bailey graduated from high school in 2017.  She was a great student and graduated with honors.  She had her life all planned out.  Graduate high school and attend college to become a Registered Nurse.  Then get married and have babies and live a life of helping others.

In the fall of 2017, she had an ache in her side that just wouldn’t go away.  She was an avid volleyball player and figured she had just pulled a muscle.  This ache continued for a couple of months until her mum demanded she go in to get it checked as it was ‘lasting too long”.

That medical visit changed Bailey's world.  She was diagnosed with EWing Sarcoma.  A rare cancer that hits primarily children.    Bailey started fighting that day.  She wasn’t a candidate for surgery until her primary tumor was shrunk.  So began the endless rounds of chemo.  Her tumor responded well to the chemo and surgery was finally scheduled.   Doctors removed a lobe of her right lung, part of her diaphragm and three of her ribs.  She had rods inserted and many tests, procedures, scans and more.

Bailey continued to fight to get well and though the recovery was long and painful, she continued to move forward.  Her first scan came back following surgery as good.  What a wonderful thing to hear.  Baily had missed 2 semesters of school but was ready to go back.  She had decided to change her major slightly, she is going to become an oncology nurse and help kids get through what she had just experienced.

Three months after the all clear Bailey went back to school.  She was now a year behind but ready to go!  Three months passed and she was scheduled for another scan.   The world stopped--again.  “IT” was back.   Bailey has just completed her second major surgery and is ready to start chemo as soon as a small leak around the ‘port’ in her chest heals.  She will then have an Autologous Bone Marrow Transplant at Masonic Children’s Hospital which will entail a four week in-patient process.  After this she will be required to live within 30 minutes from this hospital for 100 days so that specialized treatment is readily available.

Baileys battle continues.  She says when she feels better she wants to finish her RN degree, learn to snowboard and travel the west Coast to name just a few things she wants to do.   Please help Bailey to pay some of her medical bills and do some of those things she wants to experience.   This beautiful, vivacious, smart, talented, kind, loving daughter, granddaughter, niece and friend needs your support.  Thank you.
