Help Taylor get Equipment to walk again

Donation protected
Taylor was in a horrible accident on 3/25/19.  He was riding a dirt bike, a car didn't see him and pulled out in front of him.  He hit the car and was thrown from the dirtbike into the highway where he was run over by a jeep.  I can't imagine the fear he must have felt during the accident. Taylor was conscious (though bleeding badly) immediately after the accident and was able to tell someone at the scene my phone number so that he could call his mom.  I was 10 hours away.  :( By the time we were able to get to NC, Taylor had had the first of many surgeries and was in a coma, on a ventilator and non-responsive.  We later found out that he not only had broken almost every bone in all of his extremeties, and dislocated his shoulder, but he also had a severe traumatic brain injury and was only a 2 on the RANCH coma scale. Taylor was fighting for his life, and we were praying non-stop.  At each surgery, the doctors told us how severe Taylor's injuries were and that he may not survive, he may lose his right leg, he may lose his right hand, they may not be able to repair his right ankle because it was shattered and pushed into his lower leg, and so much more.   I sat in the room and watched them connect him to a machine to check his brain activity to see if he needed to have a brain death study, and we continued to pray for a miracle. Each time I kissed him goodbye as they took him to surgery, I would pray that God's plan was to save my son. Several weeks in, Taylor had a grand mal seizure and started neuro storming.  His brain was very angry.  His heart rate would range from 120 to 150 beats per minute.  His breaths per minute would range from 30 to 60.  He would sweat non-stop and run high fevers.  The ICU team was working relentlessly to find medicines to help break the neuro storming to save my son.  They put a cooling blanket under him which circulated water that was 30 degrees to lower his temperature.  This went on for weeks and weeks and felt like it would never end. It's been over 145 days since Taylor's accident.  He's at in-patient rehab and is fighting to get better.  He has a tremendous will to live and will to walk again.  A few weeks ago, he started speaking for the first time since his accident, and it was truly a miracle.   He suffers from appraxia and aphasia, so he isn't always able to tell us what is happening, and he can't initiate thoughts like, "I'm thirsty" or "I'm wet."  Taylor is a total care patient.  This means that he isn't able to feed himself, or use the rest room, sit on his own, stand or walk.  He can't turn himself in bed to reposition himself or drive his wheel chair.   Taylor has a long road of physical therapy, occupational therapy, and speech therapy ahead.  Insurance limits the amount of time that he has even though his injuries are so severe.  Taylor is young - only 22 years old and is a fighter.  He is working so hard to get better and just needs more time with amazing therapists. We understand that you all have so many things going on in your lives, too, and are asking for support only because we want to give Taylor the best chance for a full recovery. Thank you to everyone who has been praying for our son.  We love you!
