Help Leslie Beat Cancer

Donation protected
My name is Eddie. I want to tell you about my neighbors - the family who lives next door to me and their daughter, Leslie.

Leslie S. is a 9 year-old girl who was diagnosed with stage 3 brain cancer (craniotomy neoplam ganglioglioma) at age 7. This is her second battle with the disease. She was first diagnosed in July 2017 after she fell into a coma. At the time, the doctors removed a tumor the size of a cantaloupe. Since then, she's had 3 brain surgeries, various rounds of chemotherapy, and radiation. Unfortunately, the cancer has returned after 3 months of remission.

Currently, she is on a wait list for a medical trial since the original treatment, being the most common way of battling that type of cancer, has been unsuccessful.

Leslie likes to dance, do cartwheels and splits, and sing (although she's shy to sing in front of others). Her favorite movies are Disney's "Descendants" and "Tangled" and she loves unicorns because "they are magical!" She has a younger sister who adores her and a puppy she loves dearly. She misses her school and friends.

Her parents are loving and caring to her and her sister. They are good people and kind neighbors who pick up the trash cans when the wind knocks them over, say a warm "good morning" every day on their way out the door, and bring over extra plates of food when there are leftovers from a party.

This is a challenging time for Leslie and her family. They are doing all they can to fight for their family.

I'm lucky and blessed in that I know very few people who have been affected by cancer. When I heard that Leslie was diagnosed, I didn't know what to do or how I could help my neighbors. So I am asking you to please help my neighbors and help Leslie as she fights this cancer.

I hope you can help me in supporting them by donating whatever amount you can spare. The funds will be used to pay for treatment, transportation, and care for Leslie during this trying time.

In the words of Mr. Rogers, “We live in a world in which we need to share responsibility. It’s easy to say ‘It’s not my child, not my community, not my world, not my problem.’ Then there are those who see the need and respond. I consider those people my heroes.” Please, be a hero to Leslie, be a neighbor to Leslie.
