Meet the Kenyan Five - In the center is Omito Abraham Owour ! a young Kenyan farmer who is leading the improvements of the K -5 village, a sustainable farming village/orphanage and survivor refuge  in a drought prone area of Kenya . The K-5 Village was started in 2014 by 5 youths .
Omito Abraham Owour - coordinator
Charles Ooko - Chairman
Kennedy Obonyo - Secretary
David Odhiambo - treasurer

It was formed to end poverty , disease and deaths due to fragile and insufficient food production.

The K5 village consists of 2000 people. Mostly young folks with no parents and family support, orphans, widows and elderly.
Many of the older members of the community have died due to aids, disease and violence. leaving the strong youth to figure it out and rise up.
Most of the youths attempts to attain self sufficiency have failed. There are scarce resources to get through droughts with enough food and clean water to maintain healthy living conditions for the sick, injured , mentally impaired and orphaned . K -5 is a refuge for these folks.
Clean abundant water is the biggest problem.

We are raising a small amount of money for the K-5 village. The goal is to give them the basic tools so they can lift themselves up!
The money will be used to buy a 800 gallon / 3000litre  cistern , gutters, roofing tin, and gutter screens so the village can catch a large amount of rainwater.
The most important purchase is a computer, solar panel, battery and inverter.  The computer and solar panel will be used by Omito to  create and run more funding projects, all on his own as he desires to have the same resources we do. This will give this village  more cistern capacity then we hope, the well and solar pump system it desperately needed for the village to truly feed itself, and maybe even have  extra water to grow food  to sell and trade.
This is the list of items to be purchased in  Kenya. Omito has researched these items to be sure they will work for his situation. They can all be bought in the cities of Homa Bay or Nairobi. I have worked with Omito to create this wish list that we hope to fullfill as soon as possible. I have converted the prices from kenyan  shillings to dollars so you can see exactly what we are using the money for.
 1. HP Intel core i7-6500 laptop -$ 652.08
 2. One 100 watt solar panel - $ 165.98
 3. One chloride exide battery 70n  - $ 123.50
 4.  DC-AC power inverter -$ 74.10

My name is Richard A. Ursomarso.  I am an Organic Vegetable Farmer in the southern Appalachian mountain's of Virginia. I am so happy, hopeful and excited to be working with Omito to bring a huge blessing to his village.
I am very aware of how water and my ability to pump it and use it efficiently determines my quality of life. Both Me and Omito go through months of hot weather with little to Zero rain . Without my solar slow pump, well and irrigation pond, I would be at survival level in dry years.  With those things I run a small Organic Produce Farm and employ 3 people. . You can learn more about me and my farm at  www.waterbearfarm.com. I will be managing the fund and wiring the money to Omito. you can contact me at [email redacted]. I will respond although it may take a day or two. My address is 477 rain dance rd , Floyd , Va. 24091.
Please, if you would like to learn more, search me on FaceBook and The K-5 village for more pictuers and videos! Omito has done a wonderful job of presenting his cause.

I know that some of you may be hesitant to offer support to this project because it is so far from home and we have many needs to be met here in the U.S.
I Beleive that we are all connected world wide. When we can help others who are truly in need due to very dire circumstances then we lift everyone in the world. It effects the energy of the entire planet. I have spent a lot of my time connecting with Omito Farmer to Farmer. He reached out to me looking to better his skills and find ways to empower his village up and out of near starvation level poverty.
This process of working with him and opening up to finally commit and help him take this step has been very profound for me. I have spent a good bit of time with this. Every time I get a drink of clean well water, take a long hot shower or use the toilet, or run out to my fields and hook up another drip line to easily  and effortlessly water another 200 foot long row of vibrant vegetables, I am humbled at how easy my life is.
Its so easy to take water for granted. The K5 village cares for mentally and physically impaired people who would be homeless and desperate without the refuge that K5 offers. Omito is young, 27. He has taken on this very honorable postion of caring for his community. His succes will empower other villages around the world.
Lets support him. Thank you. Bless your water , Bless your life.
