Prevent Blindness / Eye Surgery Fund

I need Vitreous Detachment Surgery.

Basically the gel sacks inside my eyes have collapsed and need to be fixed. The remove the gel and replace it with a substance that  fills the sack up adding support to the retina and lens and other eye parts. While the sack is detaching, it is tugging on the retina and at some point could cause detachment and I can completely lose my vision. I need this surgery in both eyes.

Surgery can only be done 1 eye at a time, requires an overnight hospital stay and has a 2-4-6 week recovery period.

I had cataract surgery in my left eye in April and cataract surgery in my right eye is scheduled for May. This only removes the cloudiness from my vision and corrects my distance vision.

I am a 48 year old single mom (to young for these vision issues), who works 40 hours a week and has no insurance coverage. Because I am employed, I don\'t qualify for any charity support like the Lions Club, Knights Templer, etc. I have contacted everyone from the Lt. Governor of the state of Georgia down to Grady Hospital. These is absolutely no assistance for the working class. I contacted SSS to see if their was something I could do because my vision is deteriorating. They informed me no. If I became disabled it would be 2 years before I could receive any medical help.

I want to be able to keep my job, read, garden, craft and ride the Harley again. I hate asking for charity, but it is what it is.

Thank you in advance.
