My coworker and dear friend Christine Maggio has been diagnosed with cancer yet again. Her cancer has spread into her spinal column and has left her bed ridden and incapable of working. Chris has been battling breast cancer for 10 years now. Throughout her own struggles with this terrible disease she has always managed to be the pillar of strength. For those of you who know her and for the many who may not, Chris has managed to not only raise a family but continue to make it in to work day in and day out becoming a much loved staple in the lacey township school district.
As with all of her previous sugeries, radiation and different types of chemotherapy Chris continues to fight, but here is where we get a chance to show her we are fighting right along side her. She was forced to take an unpaid leave of absence and does not qualify for school disability program because she does not meet the required years to be vested into the pension. Due to the fact she is not vested into the pension her much needed benefits are in doubt. She has two sons one in college and the other soon to be driving, and a husband who is working 2 jobs to make sure his family is taken care of. Let's take this opportunity to help relieve some of the financial burden and prove to her and ourselves that good people deserve a break in life. LET'S BE THIS BREAK THEY SO DESPERATELY NEED.
