This is our beautiful, brave daughter Belle who is currently fighting ALL (acute lymphoblastic leukaemia). Belle and her older twin sister Neve were both diagnosed with this disease when a mere 5 months old. Sadly and tragically Neve passed away 15 days into Induction Chemotherapy at Leeds General Infirmary. Both girls not only had to fight from the day they prematurely arrived (10 weeks) early, but then continued to fight. Belle spent nearly 7 months in hospital from May 2013 to December 2013. She then came home to her family and older brother, Hiro for nearly 10 months on Maintenance Chemotherapy. In October 2014 Belle relasped for the 1st time. Then again in February 2015. This is where our journey continues. She commenced Relapse Induction Chemotherapy a 2nd time round and remains in hospital now until she gets back into remission. To enable her to get into remission, we have to go to Sheffield Children's Hospital to start a new immunotherapy drug which is yet to be registered in UK but is currently being used in Sheffield on Trials. Belle will then undergo a Stem Cell Transplant.
Mummy (Clare) & Daddy (Darren) continue to alternate nights at the hospital, whilst trying to make things as normal as possible for our 7 year old Son, Hiro.
We have been helped out with many Charities and had the support of some fantastic family and friends. This is our opportunity to give something back for their kindness.
Having to go through loss and continuing treatment in hospital with Belle (a beautiful and brave 2 year old) takes its toll on any family.
Please, give us a thought, like, share and comment to help us raise awareness of this horrible acute disease - blood cancer. We'd love to contribute to a few of these special Charities that tiresomely raise money for families like ours. Until the day we heard the news our girls had Cancer, we were oblivious really to many of these Charities and without their support over these past two years, I don't know where we'd be.
