"Introibo ad altare Dei, ad Deum qui laetificat juventutem meam." (Ps 42)

My name is Justin Pisani, I'm 19 years old and I'm from Malta. In 2017 I enrolled as a student, studying for a BA degree in History of Arts and Philosophy. But as St Augustine once said: "Thou hast made us for thyself, O Lord, and our heart is restless until it finds its rest in thee." So on the 2nd of February 2018, I joined the house of discernment of the Institute of Christ the King Sovereign Priest in Preston, United Kingdom.

Here I have found an oasis of peace, where I could pray and reflect on God's call. Everyday begins with Lauds, the morning prayer of the Catholic Church. United as one voice we sing the praises of the Lord and to Him we give thanks who is our light and guide. Throughout the day we have moments of prayer and study, whereby we seek to know and love God. Prayer is very important in fact St Francis de Sales said: "Prayer, united with the Divine Sacrifice of the Holy Mass, has an indescribable force; therefore by this means celestial favors united to the Beloved abound in the soul."

The period of discernment ends in June, thus the next step on this journey would be the seminary in Tuscany, Italy, this September. There is one year of spirituality, two of philosophy and 4 of theology.

A day in the life of the Seminary of Saint Philip Neri in Tuscany.

The Institute is not a religious order, and so, as with other seminarians, the seminarians of the Institute are asked to fund their own priestly training, and basic necessities, such as books, cassocks, other clothes, and transportation costs. I come from an ordinary hardworking background, but unfortunately I do not have the means available to finance my studies and the other aspects necessary for my seminary training.

The seminary fees are approximately €8500 or £7000 per annum, and the studies last for seven years. So I would be most grateful for any spiritual or material support you are able to offer. My God bless you!

Since this is a non-institutional fundraising campaign to cover personal expenses in addition to defraying seminary costs, I am not able to offer tax receipts.

In Christo Rege,
Justin Pisani
