***UPDATE***
On May 8th, Justine had her last round of chemotherapy treatment. Justine's follow up exam and blood was taken at the end of May to find out if she was in remission. At that appointment, Justine mentioned to the Doctor that she was having some abdominal discomfort so they wanted to schedule a CT Scan. No results were given. We were concerned but optimistic.

At the beginning of June, we received a call from The Cross that the CT Scan was scheduled for Tuesday June 13 and her f...ollow up at the Cross on Friday June 16. Justine could not make the appointment on Friday June 16 but she was able to reschedule it for June 23.

Justine had the CT Scan this past Tuesday and was looking towards getting the results on June 23 but over the last few days Justine's abdominal discomfort grew more intense day by day, hour by hour. Justine woke up Friday morning with a buckled over with intense pain so we called the triage and those amazing people where able to get her an appointment at the Cross that same day.

Justine met with the Doctors who took X-rays and then they disclosed the results from the CT Scan and her final blood work. As it turned out, the abdominal pains is an obstructed bowel. Serious but treatable.....then the Doctor revealed the results from her blood work taken at the end of May. A bomb was dropped on us! We were told she has cancer of the liver. Our worse fear became reality.

Justine was admitted into the hospital Friday night and they put a tube through her nasal passage down to her bowels. This tube is extracting everything from her bowels. If everything goes well, she will have a biopsy early this upcoming week to find out why the bowel is obstructed. It could be many things including a tumour, a clot, internal bleeding, a twisted or collapsed colon....

Once we find out why the reason for the obstruction, we will know more and she will fight on. But the fight is only just beginning as she then begins to fight the liver cancer.

You might ask why the go find me is needed...Justine will be off work for the foreseeable future, she has a mortgage and bills to pay, appointments to attend (Justine doesn't drive so she takes taxis), parking to pay for when she has a ride, medications to purchase and life to live. People have been more than kind with the first round of donations. We are so thankful to those that have already donated. We still need your help.

Justine is the strongest woman I know. When she was fighting colon cancer, she would have chemotherapy every second Monday for 3 hours then when she was done at the Cross, they would hook her up to a portable unit to continue the chemotherapy for another 48 hours. She would return to work on Friday and work when she could. She is a fighter, she is my hero. She didn't sit at home, she didn't wallow in self pity, she helped another friend deal with breast cancer, she kept living life. And she wants to keep living life. Go Fund Me will enable her to do that.

Cheers
Dale

Justine Wilson is a force of nature. She is passionate, intelligent, hard working, and caring. Justine takes great pleasure in giving and sharing (evidenced by her bringing treats to work and surprising others with birthday gifts they didn't anticipate!). She is a very direct and articulate woman and inspires her co-workers to build the same fire of self respect and determination within themselves, which is a powerful thing among women. She loves to share in others lives and has been a great friend to me since I met her at The Red Piano. She is there for me when I need to talk or vent, and she holds me up when I'm low. Justine is a very self-aware person. She can handle outrageous amounts of pain and discomfort while keeping a calm external appearance. This is almost funny when you're talking about her work shoes, but not at all when you consider what she is now facing, which has clearly been in her life for longer than I care to think about or suggest. Justine is not a careless person. She eats well and spends hours on her feet. She is not lazy. Her diagnosis is a direct result of genetics. This page is our effort to help her. Justine would likely kick cancer's ass even with no help at all - that's just in her nature. But Justine is so valuable to the world and worthy of all the support available to her. Anything you have to offer goes to a good cause - because her swift recovery and ability to practice self-care at this time will contribute not only to Justine herself but exponentially to the lives of everyone around her whom she cares for.

My partner Justine, is in a fight for her life as she has recently been diagnosed with Stage 3C colon cancer. In late September Justine had a 4" tumour removed from her small colon along with her lymph nodes. We had hoped that the removal of the tumour would be all that was required however this was not the case as 4 lymph nodes came back positive for cancer. Justine will need chemotherapy and is scheduled to begin on November 21.

For those that know Justine, I don't need to tell you that she is the first person that would volunteer to help anyone, anytime. Justine lives a healthy lifestyle and this has come as a shock to all. Colon cancer is usually diagnosed in people in the 60's or 70's so it is shocking that a young woman in her 30s has been diagnosed with this awful disease.

Justine doesn't have health coverage and the cost of the medications will be over $1000 per dose for the next 6 months.

Justine is grateful for life and she will be grateful for any financial, emotional or positive support you can give.
