Justice's Southeast Study Abroad
Greetings,
My name is Justice Stanton and I am a senior finance and management major that has been blessed to be accepted into the University of Maryland College Park's study abroad immersion program to Southeast Asia. This request for your assistance is empty without me asserting how your investment will play a role in my future growth and development.
Being able to participate in this trip is an incredible way for me to be able to build up my awareness of the Southeast Asian business environment in being able to understand how major domestic and multinational companies have been successful. While also gaining insights into areas where there are still unmet needs for these populations and other areas of improvement or oversights for these companies. To ultimately be able to work in a capacity with a firm or consulting agency to fill these niches that are fundamental to these countries' progression and further development.
The countries we are visiting include Thailand, Vietnam, Malaysia, Cambodia, and Singapore. I will be engaging with these wonderful areas of the world both through a cultural and business lens. On the cultural front, I will be going to, the Parliament of Singapore, Kuala Gandah Elephant Sanctuary, a UNESCO heritage site, Angkor Wat, the Singapore Zoo, and the Siloso Beach to name a few. On the business front, I will have the opportunity to interact with major companies such as Universal Studios, ESPN, BHP Billion, Yahoo, AirAsia, Petronas, and Marina Bay Sands. This diverse mix of American multinationals and regional corporations will allow me to learn extensively about the Southeast Asian business environment.
Lastly, this opportunity to gain exposure in an emerging region is meant to be shared, educate and inspire. Upon my return, I will provide everyone with various multimedia products encapsulating my experience, including stories, photos, and videos.
I will need assistance in funding my flight, the program fee, and spending fees for the rest of the trip.
