Thank you for visiting our site. We are seeking to raise money to help with medical and living expenses for my son Mikey.

In January 2015, Mikey, at the age of four, was badly injured through an act of child abuse and required life-saving surgery. Over the past year, he has required 13 brain surgeries, with more to come. It is believed that he is the first person in the world to have survived this degree of extensive injury, and we are deeply grateful for all of the emergency responders and medical professionals that have made Mikey’s recovery possible.

The trauma has left him paralyzed on his left side, with a permanent shunt to drain fluid from his brain. He is currently undergoing extensive physical, occupational, and speech therapy at the Cleveland Clinic Pediatric Rehab Hospital.

Mikey’s extraordinary spirit, personaility, and strength have guided him through this terrible ordeal. He is our superhero and continues to make a remarkable recovery.

With his multiple surgeries, extensive periods of hospitalization, and frequent therapy and doctor appointments, I have never left his side since the day of his injury over a year ago. As a result, I have been unable to work, and Mikey’s father is unable to provide financial support.

After a year of working hard to make ends meet for Mikey and also for my daughter, we recently almost lost our home. Keeping up with day-to-day expenses has been very challenging, along with maintaining reliable transportation to get Mikey to his many appointments. In addition, Mikey needs ongoing therapy, treatment, and equipment that can often quickly exceed our medical coverage.

We are trying to raise money to help with these many expenses and give Mikey the treatment he deserves to have the best opportunity for a strong long-term recovery. We greatly appreciate everyone's help, and any amount means the world to us.
