Darryl the Cat was killed in a heartless act of violence, and now his owner, who has no previous criminal record, is facing crminal charges. Meanwhile, Darryl's killer gets to walk away without facing any consequences.
According to Darryl's owner, his roommate - angry over being asked to move out or contribute to rent and other expenses - strangled and/or suffocated Darryl and threw his body in the garbage. Upon Darryl's owner's discovery of this, the two of them got into an altercation which resulted in Darryl's owner being charged with assault. Darryl's killer faced no charged for his horrible act of cruelty.
This crowdfund is raising money for Darryl's owner's immediate legal expenses as well as any future expenses that he might incur in bringing Darryl's killer to justice. Any extra money will be donated to the Animal Legal Defense Fund, an organization which protects animal rights and has the highest possible rating from Charity Navigator (4/4).
