2018 Virgin London Marathon

Cancer has touched my family and friends and taken loved ones away from me before, anyone who has suffered from this illness or watched anyone else suffer will know how ruthless and reckless cancer really is. It takes no prisoners by bringing pain and suffering to those it touches and those close by. Cancer has struck again with someone I love very much and now the fight for survival is on and the odds are never good. All we can do is HOPE and pray that the treatment will work and we can have a few more years at least. Life is too short and this is a reminder that we shouldn't take each other for granted and that we should be grateful for each day we get the chance to live life fully.

I have toyed with the idea of running a marathon before and made excuses to not commit but now is the time and 2018 will be the year that I run the London Marathon and raise for charity too. The charity I am supporting is the Roy Castle Lung Cancer Foundation, a very worthy cause so please give generously.
