16 year old Cole Barrett is a junior at Holy Cross High School in New Orleans. He is an Honor Roll student and Varsity Lacrosse player. He is loved by so many and such a joy to be around. He has recived a shock and been diagnosed with Hodgkins Lymphoma. With medical treatment and God willing, it is a very treatable condition. As with any life threatening medical diagnosis, the bills will pile up and become a great burden on his parents. Insurance has limited coverage and Cole's parents have already seen a direct result to their income as they do not get paid if they do not go to work. No one is going to leave their child in treatment by themselves, so missing work will be normal occurance. Cole will be recieving Chemotherapy over the next three months and will continue to go to school when he is able to try and continue having a sense of normalcy in this otherwise chaotic situation. He continues to be a part of his Lacrosse team even though he cannot play. Holy Cross is working with Cole to help him keep up with his studies at home or in the classroom to remain with his graduation class of 2018.
Cole's dad has been my closest friend since childhood and his mother/father were the direct reason for me meeting my wife. For this, I could never repay them for such a wonderful introduction. With this said, I will spearhead a fundraising effort to help offset the costs of these treatments and pray that all of my friends, associates, customers and anyone that can give a little something to help this family.   #justbecole
