June Morrell Stroke Recovery

One month ago today, February 18, my mom June Morrell @ age 68 suffered a massive stroke while at home. Lucky for us our father & sister were there to get her rushed to New Britain General Hospital. Within an hour they had then rushed her to Hartford Hospital Neurological ICU to try a invasive procedure to remove a massive blood clot that had formed in her main artery on the right side of her neck. Unfortunately she did not qualify for this procedure due to many factors so it became a waiting game.The stroke occupied 1/3 of the right side of her brain.
  Over time she became more aware of what had happened and was moved to a second room. She has lost all use of her left side but never lost her sense of humor, she had very slurred speech but we are able to understand her. My father has spent every waking moment by her side and myself, brother & 2 younger sister have done as much for support as we each can so far. 
    Two weeks ago they moved her to Gaylord Hospital in Wallingford where she is starting to make a very slow recovery. Due to the fact our father is retired & only working part time along with our mother at the time the present & the  future financial weight is starting to build .We also will have to do some renovation to there home to make access easier for them when she does get to come home. Any funds raised will be used to help father with hospital bill, home upgrades & any future expenses.
     She has incredible family & friend support but unfortunately the financial part is going to be more than we can manage so we are reaching out for any support available.
