Jumping For A Cause: CALM Charity
Donation protected
On the 2nd of August, myself and my best friend Rhys shall be sky diving out of a plane at 13,000 ft, approximately 2 miles high and falling at roughly 120 miles per hour, we are doing this extreme sport to raise money for the charity CALM.The Campaign Against Living Miserably (CALM) is an award-winning charity dedicated to preventing male suicide, the single biggest killer of men under the age of 45 in the UK. In 2015, 75% of all UK suicides were male.
Suicide is rare, but…
It happens.
There are over 6,000 deaths by suicide in the UK every year – an average of 16 per day.
It can happen to anyone. There’s no such thing as ‘the suicidal type’.
We all go through tough times, whether it’s the break down of a relationship, losing a job, or feeling like a failure when good things are happening to other people.
It doesn’t have to be one big thing – it can be lots of smaller things, and remember that everyone deals with things differently.
To help us raise as much as we can for this cause, we ask for any contribution big or small to achieve our aim of £800. Any contribution is greatly appreciated and we want to raise as much awareness towards this charity.
