Julia's Going to Praxis Academy!

Dearest Friends and Family,
I am incredibly excited to share with you an opportunity that I have been invited into this upcoming summer! But before I explain this opportunity, I’d like to first share a brief personal story and testimony.
Senior year in particular has been an extensive journey of self-discovery so far. Amidst being challenged in my personal life and working to fulfill my undergraduate degree in Business Administration, I also discovered this semester that I have been living with depression, and have been learning what this means for me and how it plays a role in my life. Ironically, as a psychology minor who has studied depression in my coursework, I was slow to identify these symptoms in myself. Each day, I felt depleted of physical, mental, and emotional energy, refusing to leave my room or get out of bed, and was rapidly losing interest in my personal goals, dreams, and values. In particular, I was becoming apathetic and losing motivation to pursue social entrepreneurship, something I was once so extremely passionate and excited about.
A few months ago, I applied for Praxis Academy, an intensive program during summer 2017 that seeks to equip undergraduate students pursuing entrepreneurship with resources and mentors that intersect business, social impact, and faith. I am incredibly excited and grateful that amidst this dry season of my life, I have received acceptance into Praxis Academy, and I don’t believe this timing is coincidence. During a time when I felt so empty and losing sight of my personal goals, God orchestrated an opportunity to remind me that every hard season is temporary, and to encourage me to continue pursuing impact and social change through business and entrepreneurship. God is good!
Now, here’s where I need help from you!
As excited as I am for this opportunity, I am still a full-time student finishing up my senior year at USC, and unfortunately do not have enough funds to cover this program. I have used a portion from my jobs and internships to pay a $100 deposit fee, but I am still struggling to cover the remaining $995 Praxis Program Fee. My parents work especially hard to support me through college, and my hope is to lessen their financial burden by seeking funding through alternative options. Would you consider supporting me in my journey with Praxis?
On my GoFundMe page, I have listed $995 as my fundraising goal, which will cover all academy materials, lodging, meals throughout the conference, and transportation. Thus, I will need to fundraise a total of $995 by June 15, 2017 in order to participate in Praxis Academy this summer.
Any amount of contribution you can give would be an incredible blessing in bringing me one step closer to this opportunity. If you have any questions about this program, my decision in enrolling, or even my personal journey this past semester, I’d love to chat and explain further in more detail.
