Memorial for Juanita
Donation protected
Juanita Coss Rubio passed away too soon on April 6, 2018.
She was 80 years old and had been legally blind since she was a toddler.
She loved to be outdoors and to take long walks. But because of her handicap most urbam areas presented many hazards including traffic, raised and broken sidewalks, curbs and even snow and ice.
She was blessed to live her last years in sunny and warm Palm Harbor, FL. Nearby she enjoyed daily walks on the Pinellas Trail that offers a safe paved place to enjoy her walks without encountering many of those aforementioned hazards. Especially snow!
She enjoyed these early morning walks 6 days a week with her dear husband until she became ill. The site of these two elders on the Trail was recognized by many visitors and locals alike. And sadly now many are asking her dear husband whom they see alone where she is.
The Pinellas Trail is a wonderful paved trail that runs some 37 miles along the gulf coast for walkers, joggers, bikers and the like of every age for locals and people visiting from all over the world.
But there are no benches to provide a respite for the weary or ill in the area of trail Juanita walked.
And so in her honor we would like to place a Memorial Bench.
Although Juanita dearly loved flowers, especially the smelly ones, we ask if you are able, in lieu of flowers to please make a donation towards the goal for a memorial bench. We have set this modest goal but are just in the earliest stages of pursuit.
Please follow your heart in whatever you choose.
If you are unable to send flowers or a donation, please do not lament! Juanita was a humble soul and your prayers and intentions for her will be heartfelt and appreciated.
On behalf of my Mom, Thank you so much and may God Bless you.
