EDIT: I have raised the goal amount on the campaign, due to the fact that April and Jake have found out that there is an additional piece of medical equipment they will be needing in order to take Luke home, that they didn't originally know about. They truly appreciate all of the donations and are overwhelmed at the generosity of so many. Of course, more than anything - they have been so touched and extremely grateful for the prayers of so many people.
Hi all! This fund raiser is being started in an effort to help little Luke's mommy and daddy with some unexpected medical expenses. A little over a week ago, 5 week old Luke started showing signs of labored breathing, as well as some other troubling symptoms. A trip to urgent care revealed that his oxygen levels were dangerously low and he was immediately taken by ambulance to the nearest children's hospital where he was diagnosed with RSV, which has since also developed into pneumonia. Since then, little Luke has been inin the pediatric ICU being monitored very closely. He is making extremely slow progress but is definitely in the best place he can be! Due to Luke's extremely weak lungs, he will be requiring some rather expensive medical equipment that unfortunately is not covered by insurance, when he is finally discharged from the hospital. This GoFundMe is to help Luke's mommy and daddy with that expense, as well as the numerous other expenses that have come up with having an unexpected extended hospital stay. (Hours missed from work, extra gas, food, etc.) If you're able to help financially, they would truly be grateful, though more than anything, they covet your prayers for their precious baby. For now, I've set the goal amount at $1,000. I may raise that amount as we find out more details about what all Luke is going to require. Thank you so much, and God bless!
