Greetings family and friends. My name is Jose Roberto Mercado and I am a recent graduate of the University of California, Berkeley. I studied Social Welfare and Legal Studies, and I am extremely prideful to say that I am the first in family to graduate from college.
This summer, I have been interning for the National Institute of Food and Agriculture (NIFA). NIFA is an educational granting agency that works under the U.S. Department of Agriculture. My internship experience, thus far, has been remarkable. I am working on meaningful projects and I have had the opportunity to make thoughtful exchange with distinguished individuals that add exponential value to my professional network. Indeed, I have gained new skills and abilities that will enable me to stand out in today's competitive workforce.

Both of my parents have wholeheartedly supported me in my dreams of coming to our nation's capitol, Washington, DC.
