Sabrina & Wendie's Wedding!

Donation protected
Sabrina and Wendie are getting married! You can help!

When we met and fell in love, a marriage between us would have been legal only in a couple of states in America. Not in Georgia, that's for sure. And not in Texas either. Didn't particularly look like we were going to be able to get legally married anytime soon, either. So we pledged ourselves to one other, and we married in our hearts as people have done throughout history. We knew, and we claimed one another, and that would have to be enough for us.

Then the Supreme Court decided to surprise the hell out of us. Legal marriage huh?
Guess we gotta get legally married. That's where you come in.

If you are reading these words, then you are a part of our lives. You are someone whom we've known, someone with whom we have shared adventures. You are our friend, so you are family to us, as chosen family are all either of us has in this life. We are connected in this life, and our joy brings you the same. So it's a pretty safe assumption that you are happy for us.

While you really would love for you to be here to see us get married- and you are invited- a trip to Dallas, with airfare, transit then a hotel room is a little more hassle than you can really manage right now. Because we have jobs and lives and stuff going on that really don't lend themselves to attending a wedding in a month and a half that you JUST heard about.

I know. Call it awful planning on our part, and look surprised.

Wait, none of you look surprised- ah, you've met us.

Nice and simple, we want to throw a Texas backyard BBQ wedding- a house party like the old days, but this time with a black and white chess theme and it is the two of us finally having our big day that we've still been dreaming about for years. To stand in front of our family and friends and declare our love by pledging ourselves in proper ceremony. It means something, you know? It's part of who we are as humanity.

We'd also like to go to Las Vegas for a three day two night cheapo tourist honeymoon package before we fly back and go to All-Con for a weekend. Because we're geeks, and it's our honeymoon.

So if you want to share our joy, and you wish you could be here, then please, just throw twenty bucks in the kitty. We've clawed our way back from the bottom, but after a few surprises and setbacks we just don't have the savings for this undertaking. So skip a registry- we have plenty of crap already, and a gravy boat isn't what's needed here. Instead, we're putting this up- a GoFundMe to help us throw a wedding and have a little honeymoon.

It is crass to ask for money, and we imagine it is moreso to ask for money for a honeymoon. But we've no parents upon whom to impose, no relatives save all of you. Our day will finally be here, and we sure would love to have just a little honeymoon to go with it- if you could please help.

You can count on getting a nice thank-you card in the mail. And cheesy vacation photos. LOTS of cheesy Vegas honeymoon and convention photos...
