JP's Health Journey
Donation protected
My cousin JP Middleton who is one of my best friends in the world was skiing at Mt Norquay Ski Resort in Banff on March 9th and had a freak accident. After getting bounced going over a cat track he landed on his backside and compressed his spine, breaking a vertebrae. The break sent bone pieces into his spinal cord and caused severe damage. He has yet to feel or move his legs since the accident. JP and his wife Katrin along with their young son Evan are facing some big hurdles in the next few months.
Their house will need to be modified to accommodate JP's wheelchair. The kitchen and bathrooms need to be modified, doors need to be widened, laundry moved to the main floor, and an and accessible entry installed. They will also likely need to add another bedroom in the basement for a live in caregiver.
Their vehicle will either need to be modified or replaced.
They will need a wheel chair and other mobility aids.
They will be spending hours on the road from Banff to Calgary for JP's physiotherapy.
Also worth mentioning is that Katrin is due to give birth to Baby Middleton number two in July!
We expect JP to be in the hospital until close to Katrin's due date and would like to begin the renovations very soon.
With JP unable to continue working and Katrin going on maternity leave soon your donations will greatly help them before the birth of their next baby this summer. We are hoping to have his home modified before JP finishes his stay in the hospital in a few months. For this to happen, they must begin very soon.
I've done the calculations and estimate that JP and Katrin will require at least $120,000 in the next year to cover JP's medical, home modifications and equipment needs. With your help we will raise half of this amount very soon.
Thank you all,
