JOYE Leadership Academy
After 3 years of being a dream, the reality is finally here. Through your compassionate support, we acquired the land and now the hard part-building the academy.
In order to continue to make a difference in the lives of those we serve at JOYE, it is vital that we build this academy. With this in mind, we announce the launch of JOYE Leadership Academy building project, to be constructed in The Gambia, West Africa. The goal of this project is to build a state-of-the-art facility that will give access to quality education for underprivileged children in The Gambia.
The JOYE Leadership Academy curriculum will not only focus on academic learning, but also on leadership and vocational training for our future leaders, which is desperately needed in the region and beyond.
Our current focus is to start the building project, so that we can start getting students into the classrooms for the purpose of learning, growth and development. The JOYE Leadership Academy will have classrooms for primary and secondary education, vocational and IT training center, recreational facilities, residence for students, staff and guests, and a center for leadership. The project will be built in six phases:
Phase 1 - Clearing the land and adding security fencing
Phase 2 - Building of classrooms for primary education, and admin building
Phase 3 - Building of residence for students, staff, and guests
Phase 4 - Building of classrooms for secondary education
Phase 5 - Building of vocational, IT and leadership center
Phase 6 - Building of recreational facilities
Our plan is to start Phases 1 and 2 concurrently, followed by the remaining phases as laid out. We have an estimate of $150,000.00 to complete the first two phases. This is a major undertaking for a small organization like JOYE, but with the help of donors and supporters like you, we can translate this vision to a reality together. JOYE as an organization has relied on small donors over the past 8 years to achieve its programs objectives. Over 300 students, 2,500 families, and 35 communities have benefited as a result.
