Hi!! Welcome and thank you for supporting Josie June Bug. Josie was born with Arthrogryposis Multiplex Congentia. We are raising money for Josie's medical bills, medical equipment, treatment and therapy sessions.
In July 2017, Josie has been selected to receive a highly exclusive intensive therapy through bio aquatic Dolphin therapy. Please feel free to research this type of therapy at www.upledger.org
These four days will include intensive CranioSacral therapy for 5 hours each day along with 30-45 minutes of Bio-Aquatic Dolphin therapy daily. This therapy will be held in Freeport, Grand Bahamas. Donors contributed from the Upledger Institute the the treatment that Josie will receive worth $5000.00 !! Thank you to the two families that graciously contributed! This is extremely generous and our family couldn't be happier.
Arthrogryposis Multiplex Congentia is a rare disorder • 1outof3000• that affects mostly the extreminities. It's a condition where the muscles stop developing around the 6-8 week of fetal development. This can create a lot of other issues. Her feet were clubbed and wrists touching the back of her forearm, knees have contracture's and do not extend straight, and her elbows do not bend.
Josie was diagnosed at birth with this disorder. Josie's upper and lower extremities are affected and we work very hard to get these contractures bendy and bringing those muscles to life! Some muscles will respond and some will not unfortunately, but we strive HARD everyday to loosen soft tissues.
Their are so many different types of treatment for Josie and her disorder. We currently give her occupational and physical therapy weekly. Some other forms of treatment are CranioSacral therapy, Magicarms• gravity -balancing exoskeleton device, custom made through computer graphics to fit each child•, stretches, swimming therapy ( as she ages) and any new and upcoming treatments. These treatments will also help aid with movement and bending of her arms and legs to help her walk, stand,eat, and simply help her to be more functional in everyday life.
