Josh Freeman Post Collegiate Fund

Hi, my name is Josh Freeman and I am a professional Shot Putter in the United States, the most competitive country in the world for shot putting. I have a personal best of 20.91m (68'7") which currently ranks as the 11th longest throw in the world this year. Unfortunately in the world of track and field there is little funding to continue training once you graduate college, unless you are one of the best in the world upon graduation. That was not me, I have only most recently climbed to the near the top of the world rankings, unfortunately this did not come with any financial increase. My goal for this fundraiser is to help me get through my first summer of professional track and field, where I will hopefully be put in a position to sign a professional contract for the 2018 season.

Any money raised would be used to help me stay afloat financially, while helping me afford trips overseas to compete. These things include monthly bills, equipment needs, food while traveling, paying for travel visas, and any other surprises that may pop up along the way. Being a first year professional, I'm learning something new everyday and things continue to get more and more expensive.

I do currently coach on the side of my training, earning decent money, but typically it's only enough for a few meals a week and refilling my gas tank so I can make it to my coaching sessions the following week.
