Josh and Anna's IVF Journey

Hi Everyone! We are writing this today with a mix of emotions, as we are embarking on a new chapter in our lives, but also sharing something with the world that in a lot of ways makes us feel very uncomfortable and vulnerable, but with the hope that our story will speak to others out there that are going through what we are and those who would feel led to be apart of our journey. As some of you may know, and many do not, Anna and I have been struggling with infertility for the last few years. To some, this may sound like a couple that just “Has the timing all wrong” or “Just isn’t being patient enough”, or maybe it is just something that hasn’t been experienced and therefore seems insignificant. To us, though, this experience has felt like a prison of emotions, with the constant roller coaster of hope, followed by let downs. We see everyone else around us constantly being blessed with the joy of a child, the experience of parenthood, but every time it seems like it is our time, we get the news that yet again it is not. It’s been a very depressing experience, to say the least, but one that God has definitely used to build character in us. We say all that not to elicit emotions of sadness for us necessarily, but to paint the picture of just how this experience has worn on us over the last few years. It has tested our faith for sure, but we are steadfast in our belief that God has a plan through this for us. We have gone to the fertility doctor for the last year now, trying several different treatments to help with the process, but it has not yielded any positive results, or even the hint of pregnancy. So it is through MUCH PRAYER and contemplation that we have decided to pursue IVF(in vitro fertilization) treatment to hopefully have a child of our own. This procedure as many of you know is very intensive and very expensive. We are looking at medical costs of around $8,000 out-of-pocket and honestly we have been stressed as to how we could come up with that kind of money, but we also know that God wouldn’t place this direction on our heart without providing a way.
