Jose's Fight Against Colon Cancer

My name is Aaron De La Rosa and I am the proud son of Jose Rodriguez. I started this fund to help out my parent's medical bills that piled up while my dad was fighting for his life. He is someone I look up to because of his hard work ethic and determination. Growing up, I spent a lot of time with my dad lifting weights, cooking, and four wheeling.
In August 2014, my dad was diagnosed with stage 3c colon cancer. He had surgery immediately to remove the tumor and part of his colon and started six months of chemotherapy that left him with neuropathy in his fingers and toes. Throughout the chemo treatments, my dad endured horrible nausea and fatigue, yet whenever I would talk to him on the phone he would always ask how I was doing. In August 2015, the doctors had found a suspicious spot on his liver. They had found out that his colon cancer had spread to his liver, making it stage 4 cancer. My dad had surgery immediately to remove the tumor, and had a follow up scan in January 2016 that showed the tumor was growing again on his liver. He went through more chemotherapy, which seemed to be successful halfway through treatments, but after the second half of treatment the tumor had again continued to grow and spread more on his liver. In May 2017, the cancer has now shown up on his adrenal glands.
Throughout all of his surgeries and chemotherapy, my dad had continued to work as a full time manager at a restaurant to be able to afford the first new house my parents bought four years ago. Doctors had used last resorts such as clinical trials and more chemotherapy to see if they could help slow the progress of the cancer. This last year my dad took a sharp decline and the chemotherapy took its toll draining my dad of his energy. He passed away peacefully on December 26, 2017.
All of the money donated will be put towards medical bills. My dad and my family will be forever grateful of any donations to help with their expenses. Any amount is graciously appreciated. Thank you family and friends!
