Loving Memory Of Jose Luis Miranda

Donation protected
On February 2, 2018, our family experienced a tragic loss. Jose Luis Miranda reached the gates of heaven due to complications following a stent implant surgery.

My grandfather went into Kaweah Delta Hospital in Visalia, Ca on January 25, 2018 showing symptoms of a stroke. He went into surgery on the following Monday. Luis was in a coma-like state for the following 5 days then ultimately joined God and other loved-ones in heaven. He is finally at peace.

He left a legacy of 6 children and 23 grandchildren.

On behalf of my family, I want to thank everybody who has reached out to each of us. We appreciate the prayers and gestures of kindness. It will not go unnoticed.

Many friends and family members have asked, "What can I do to help?" Now is the time and here is the opportunity to help us in this time of need. Any donation will be helpful to give my grandpa Jose a proper memorial.

I am going to raise at least $10,000 by February 11, 2018 to cover the funeral costs. My grandpa deserves the best funeral ever. He has reached out and impacted so many lives that I believe if every person that he has came in contact with donates at least $10, we can reach that goal in a few days.

I will give the donations to my Aunt Betty who, along with her siblings, will arrange the funeral.

I can write 20 pages about what he meant to me, but what I think is more powerful and meaningful is how so many other people valued him. Through family, work, and church he was influential to many people. In the words of my Uncle Peter, "He is a legend." Jose Luis is a cherished person by friends and family through out California and Tijuana. He loved family reunions and always instilled the importance of having a strong family bond.

My grandpa Jose was a spiritual leader and family patriarch. Everybody that knows him, knows he was one with God. Even when sick, he never missed church on Sunday.

My grandpa had a passion for cars. Especially classics and low riders. He loved sanding and painting cars. His body shop was a second home for all of us.

His children – my aunts, uncles, and father – are at task to provide the funds to give him a proper funeral and memorial. I am asking for assistance from friends and family to help pay for the expenses.  My family would be so appreciative of any amount we receive.

"Thank you so much, Amor. The years we spent together ment so much to me. You showed me a lot of things. Especially how to love the lord and have peace. You will always be in my heart and on my mind. I love you Papi."

"Dad had a passion for music. Especially church songs. When I was 12 years old, he let me sing songs at church every Sunday morning. He always made sure there was time during service to let me sing. He would buy cassette tapes and his favorite was "Quien Como Jehova." Dad loved to laugh and he was a wonderful Grandpa."

"Jose Miranda was a great: person, grandpa, father, brother, uncle, and friend... A loyal servant to God. He was always positive and helped others. He put other people before himself all the time. He changed people's lives for the better and always shined light on others."

"Grief is the price one pays for love. And I am fortunate to have known my father’s love so completely and so intensely, to have him there to walk me down the aisle at my wedding and to see his face at the hospital when I gave birth to my two older daughters I am grateful that he was there to wipe my tears and hold my hand until I was 43 years old, but my youngest son will never know first-hand the depth of his grandfather’s love for him. He will never feel the security of knowing that, other than his parents, there is a man who would move mountains for him. Of course, I can tell him stories, but a story can’t replace the feeling of laying on his chest and feeling his laugh reverberate until a responding smile tickles your lips—and knowing that in that moment, all is right with the world."

“As I sit here trying to gather my thoughts, I think to myself; Dad someone who's heart was made of pure gold, a dedicated, loving, humble father, grandfather, and friend. He always wore his heart on his shoulder and God’s words as his armour. Even in the midst of the darkest storms he always made it clear to us as his children, his grandchildren and those around him far and near to lean upon Gods promises and scriptures. During the toughest battles he still had faith with his head held high just to show us all to always be strong through all tribulations in life. Today I stand here proud of my father because I know all the lives he has touched in one way or another were in a positive way. Growing up I used to be stubborn to things he would tell me or try to protect me from and regardless if we bumped heads or not he always provided unconditional love for me and my siblings. Those special moments of prayers at family gatherings, dinners, birthdays, before leaving him or him leaving you will never be forgotten. I thank you pa' for all things you have taught me in life, for always being the backbone to our family, never turning your back on us, always making sure we were in the best of spirits, always giving us consejos when needed the most. For all these wonderful things you have left an impact in so many lives that your memory shall forever live on. All I think now when I hear dad is,  heaven needed a hero like you and my heart smiles once again I love you my hero fly high until we meet again..”
