Medical Expenses for Jose Portillo

Jose Portillo is a senior in high school, who, in the winter of 2016, was diagnosed with Juvenile Nasopharyngeal Angiofibroma. This means that he has a large tumor growing in his nasal cavity, head, and neck. The tumor is growing rapidly, making it dangerous and urgent. Jose needs to be operated on immediately in order to ensure the tumor does not continue to grow into his brain.
Jose is scheduled to have his operation to remove the tumor in March, but his recovery and healing will be a long and grueling process.
Major surgery is a frightening process for anyone, let alone an 18 year old student. In order to ensure he gets better, Jose has to put his life on hold, as he is unable to do the things he used to. This includes attending school, participating in extracurricular activities, and hanging out with his friends. Additionally, Jose's surgery means that he will no longer be able to work to help support his family.
We are raising money to help offset some of his medical expenses that he will accrue during the operation and recovery process. All money that is raised will go towards supporting Jose and his family with paying his medical bills.
Jose is a charismatic, outgoing, and kind student who is well liked by our school community. Any donation you are able to give will help to make this process a little more bearable for Jose and his family.
