Jose Needs a Break !

If you know ACT UP Philly, you know Jose DeMarco. He's been a steady presence for the past... well, a long time. Jose wouldn't like us to say how long exactly. But suffice it to say, Jose has put literally thousands of hours of unpaid work into supporting ACT UP Philly to win campaigns that improve the lives of people with HIV. 


Now, it's time for those of us who've benefited from Jose's work to give back. For years, Jose has been saying he wants to step away from ACT UP for a bit and travel. And it just keeps getting delayed. So we, a group of Jose's friends and movement family, are stepping in. To show our appreciation to Jose, we are raising money to fund a travel sabbatical for Jose. He needs time to rest, to recharge, to see the world -- so he can come back ready to keep fighting the long fight to end AIDS. 


We are hoping to raise $10,000 that will be given to Jose, so he can take a break and travel cross country by train. All the dollars you donate (minus bank fees) will go to Jose. So please donate! And spread the word to others. It's time to give back to someone who has given so much to us, and our movements.
