Jonathan's Journey

Our infant nephew, Jonathan Cerniglia, was recently diagnosed with spinal muscular atrophy. This disease is the number one genetic cause of death in infants. It will rob him of physical strength by affecting the motor nerve cells in the spinal cord taking away his ability to walk, eat or breathe. In his one month of life he has suffered more than any baby should and so have his parents, Joe and Natalia. He is currently under pediatric intensive care and his parents are going to have to endure exorbitant care, treatment and travel costs. They are meeting with specialists and are looking into experimental treatments that will hopefully buy him enough time for a cure to be found for this devastating disease. We are heartbroken and just want this sweet boy to have the fighting chance he deserves. Please help if you can. Thank you!
