Jon Sandoval Cancer Fundraiser

As most of you know, Jon, my man and love for the past 18 years, has been a self-employed entertainer/performer all of his adult life.  You can often find him at the Grand Del Mar, Larson’s Steak House or happily performing for family and friends on the stage he built at our home in Jamul.  Writing lyrics, music and performing are in his blood and as his siblings can attest, he have been true to his calling his entire life.

Over the past few weeks, we have received some difficult news---Jon has been diagnosed with a blood disease called MDS, a form of blood cancer.  (https://www.cancer.org/cancer/myelodysplastic-syndrome/about/what-is-mds.html)

He will begin chemotherapy/transfusion therapy next week, which will continue for several months, and it will render him unable to perform/work for at six months, at least.

Being a self-employed entertainer all of his adult life, he has always provided and survived the difficult task of living off of his ability to perform. Unfortunately, he does not have a retirement package (401k or pension), only the savings he has accrued when possible.

He won't know how soon he can return to singing/performing, until after a few of months of treatment are completed.  But first things first, it’s too soon to think about that now.  He needs to first complete the chemo/transfusion therapy; regain his stamina afterwards and slowly return to his normal life in order to be able to earn a living and pay bills and become self-sufficient again.

This is where I/we ask for your help. If you can and it’s in your heart to donate, we would be forever grateful and appreciative.  Any and all funds we receive from you and others, will be put towards the mounting medical and medication costs, in addition to the loss of income from Jon's inability to work.

We have learned a few things in life. Karma has always prevailed in helping others.  I will pray for all. I am and will be taking care of Jon and most of his affairs. Jon's goal is to recover and get back to work and to help others.

Thank you, and may God bless you for your help.
