Jon Rector's cancer fund

Donation protected

Update on Jon: Tuesday he had an MRI and Wednesday we found out his heart has no abnormalities. Woohoo! On Wednesday he also got to start chemo treatments and after a long 10 hour day at Mayo he went home to rest. He took the chemo very well during and after so far he is just starting to get more tired easily. Jon, Ashley and the girls wanted me to pass on a huge thank you from the bottom of their hearts to everyone who has donated and kept Jon in their prayers!

Most of you know this is Jon Rector. He is originally from Fennimore WI but currently lives in Holmen WI. Jon is an extremely hard working husband and father. Jon and Ashley have been together for just over 9 years. He has 3 beautiful daughters Karlee 10, Emily almost 8 and Harper 4 ½. Life has been pretty good so far for Jon until 4 weeks ago when he went to an oral surgeon for what he thought was an abscess tooth. This was not the case so they biopsied it and it came back as cancer. They got him in to Mayo in Lacrosse where they did a PET scan. The pet scan came back that he has stage 2 diffused large b cell non-Hodgkin's lymphoma. It is currently in his lymphoid on the left side of his face, his chin and one spot in his chest. He then had an ultra sound biopsy, echo and a bone marrow biopsy done at Mayo. He was supped to start chemo this Friday October 11th, but they found out at the bone marrow biopsy that his echo came back abnormal. His ejection fraction was to low. They are very confused as to why with no other heart problems, his age and the type of work he does it should be in the normal range. So now he must wait to start chemo by a week or more until he can see a cardiologist for a more in depth exam. He gets his port placed this Thursday October 10, Hopefully he will get to start chemo next week. Once he starts he will have six 7 hour chemo treatments total. One every 21 days (as long as blood work is good the day before each treatment). Jon is in good spirits and has a great attitude about this whole process just wants to get things moving so they can get past this. Last week they found out Jon does not have short term or long term disability. The place he worked got new insurance polices and he dint know that it had been dropped. With that being said he will be missing a ton of work and with him being the main source of income for his family, that is going to make things very hard. Not only will he be missing work for treatments and tests the 2nd full week after every treatment he will have to miss work. That's when his immune system will be at its lowest. Please if you are able to help in any way I know they would very much appreciate it.
