This is Jenny, a mother, wife, daughter, sister, friend, leader, and entrepreneur and will now be adding to her list of titles, a warrior. On Sunday, April 7th, Jenny began to have seizures. Over the last three days, through many scans, pokes, and prods it was confirmed; she has a cancerous brain tumor. Jenny is beginning to have effects from the tumor, having numbness is her right hand and arm. The tumor is approximately 4 cm in size, located in the left hemisphere. Jenny will need surgery in the immediate future, and will have a difficult road of treatment and recovery to follow. Jenny’s first Surgical Neuro-oncology appointment is tomorrow, April 10th, at 1015 at which time next steps will be decided.
I have known Jenny for more than ten years. I recall clearly the day I met her, I was in a desperate search of a home daycare that could care for my 3 year old little boy. I had visited so many that week, was disappointed, frustrated, and thought I would never find anyone good enough to care for him. And then I found Jenny; the amazing woman with the patience of a saint and the determination and drive of a warrior. The rest we can say is history. She became an amazing friend to me and my husband and a bonus mom to both of my boys.
Despite this devastating news Jenny has remained incredibly strong and positive. Her contagious smile remains and her heart of gold continues to shine. Jenny and her family are fueled by positivity, love, support, and laughs, so please keep them coming. Jenny is honestly one of the most generous, hard-working, and caring people I have ever met, but now she needs our help. Please help me in raising funds for Jenny and her family as she begins her fight against cancer. As an entrepreneur and business owner she depends upon her income from her two businesses to help support her family. With upcoming surgery and treatment Jenny will need to put work on hold. Your contributions will be used to lessen the financial impact of upcoming medical bills and help with the day to day cost of living her family is dependent upon.
