John V. Silva: Father, Brother, Son, Friend

John V. Silva was a loving father, son, brother and friend. He had so much to offer and he offered so much. In the short time that he had, he accomplished so many things and lived unafraid, unbound—John lived fully and openly—never waiting for life to pass by. It is well known that his pride and joy and the recipients of all his love were his children—Jayden (7) and Benjamin (6). John’s priority was to provide a good life for his children and family. His hard work was a testament to the love he had for them. John took an active interest in their education and hobbies and above all he made sure that his kids knew they were loved. John loved his dog, Lula, whom he named after his favorite hot sauce Cholula and she often went riding with him. Everything about John was fast, furious and fearless—he enjoyed riding his motorcycle and he brought life and energy everywhere he went.

John passed away in an accident. It was not supposed to happen. He did what he could to avoid it—and if you knew John, you knew he was a strong person; strong-minded and strong-willed. There is no doubt in our hearts that John was strong until the very last second. The last thing he told his family was, “I’ll be back in thirty minutes. Love you too.” We all can agree that those thirty minutes were too short, and that John left us too soon.
