John Pacylowski, Jr Memorial Fund

Donation protected

On the afternoon of September 9, 2016 in Historic Ellicott City, MD, John Pacylowski fell from a ladder while working on his building which was damaged from the recent flood. He died instantly, leaving behind six grandchildren, three children, and his wife of almost 50 years. He and his wife Sun owned and operated Precious Gifts for over 20 years. When his building was damaged from the flood, he wouldn't allow anyone to set up a fund for them and never asked anyone for money despite losing all sources of income and receiving no flood insurance to assist them.

He was a proud and determined man, and was driven to get their store back up and running. John was 67 years old. In life, John was too proud to ask for help. However we know that in his death he would want to make sure his wife was taken care of. He was the engine of the store, but she is the heart. Please consider donating to John’s memorial fund, with all proceeds going to support his wife, family and business.

On Tuesday September 13th, 2016 at the Gathering Place in Clarksville, MD (6120 Day Long Ln, Clarksville, MD 21029) from 6-7 PM, there will be a memorial service in John’s honor. Please consider joining his family, friends and loved ones in honoring his memory.

Below is a passage written by his children....

Our father didn't have any quit in him. No one was more determined to get Ellicott City back on its feet after the flood then him. No excuses. No tears. Just get to work. On the afternoon of September 9th while he was working on his store and building, Precious Gifts in historic Ellicott City, he suffered a terrible and inexplicable accident. Somehow, despite all of the safety measures he always had in place, his ladder slipped and he fell. We were told that he didn't suffer. He passed away as a strong capable man, the only way he would have wanted it.

Our family is only left with the comfort that he touched so many lives and his legacy will live on in the hundreds and thousands lucky enough to know him.

Dad, we love you. We miss you. You can rest in peace because we will take care of Mom.

Love,
Michael, Annie and Linda
