Johnny's Scholarship/ Medical Aid

Donation protected
Hello everyone, my name is Johnny Castro. I am in my last year of college and was eagerly awaiting to earn my degree in Information Systems at the University of Maryland, Robert H Smith school of Business. I was given various scholarships for the year and thought I wouldn't need any assistance, but they took away $8,000 in scholarship money per semester for me. That's $16,000 I lost to pay off my tuition.

Currently, my father's company is suffering and we operate at a loss. Last year, we lost $50,000, and I work with the company full-time. I am currently not earning anything, and all of my time is spent either in school or assisting the family business. That means I don't have time for a part-time job to earn extra income.

I also have Crohn's Disease, and because everything I currently have in my savings account will be going directly to school, that means that I won't be able to afford the medication or the procedures that I will need to keep myself healthy. I will have to make the choice of prioritizing my education over my health.

The school recognizes that I am in financial need but refuses to give me any assistance for whatever reason. Our EFC is 00000. That means we do not have enough money to pay a single dollar of the tuition. I am not sure what I should do, as my health is constantly declining. The insurance I have does not cover the medication that helps me.

Anything that could be given would be greatly appreciated, and will help me from having to sacrifice my health for an education.  Thank you everyone!
