Johnny Buckner - Cancer Patient

Donation protected
Hello friends,

My dear brother, Johnny Buckner was recently diagnosed with cancer.  He wasn't feeling well last fall and after tests, xrays, etc. his doctor determined his gall bladder had to be removed.  During surgery the doctor discovered that he had a large cancerous tumor attached to it and it rested on his liver.  He recently had another surgery to scrap the cancer off his liver and it was discoverd that he had three cancerous spots on his stomach and cancer (mass)  wraped around his major artery and bile duct to his liver.  They could not remove it because of the location and the attachment that it has on his artery.  He had his first chemo. treatment last week.  He will be out of work for several months because of the intense treatment of chemo.  and radiation treatments that are scheduled.
He is the sole provider in his household.  He is under a lot of stress from the illness and  the fact that he will not be able to work to earn income to pay for his mortgage, utilities, food, etc.  and the increasing balance of his medical bills that his insurance does not cover.

I want my brother to focus on his treatment and getting better.  The financial stress is over-bearing as you can imagine.

I would like to tell you about my brother.  He has always been the best! He grew up in Virginia Beach, graduate of First Colonial High and went to T.CC.   He  worked since the age of 14.  He was always a hard worker with a huge sense of humor.  No matter how I would get frustrated about something, he always found the positive side of it and was really good cheering me up and putting things in prospective.  He taught me how to ride a bike, play sports, skate, dance, etc.  When I became an adult, he taught me how to be street smart and to stay safe when I was living at the oceanfront during my younger days.  When my mother became sick and before she departed, he visited her every day at the hospital and rehab. center.  Ever since she departed, my brother visited my 88 year old father after work or called him every day.  I have to confess, he has always been more attentive with my parents than I have.    My brother watched over my son, my dog and my home front when ever I had to go out of town.  During the younger years of moving from place to place, he was always there to help.  I have so many stories when  he was there for me and for other people.  He has a good heart and I never witnessed a mean streak in his body.  Everyone that has had the pleasure to know my brother will agree.

I know he is concerned about paying the bills since he will be out of work for several months.  His savings will be gone by the end of May, 2017.   I want the stress off him  so he can focus on getting well and getting the treatment  that he needs.  Any donations that you can provide towards his expenses will be appreciated.  Please do not hesitate to contact me, (Johnny's sister) June Marshall [phone redacted],  [email redacted].

Update:  Johnny tried going back to work for a few weeks but kept getting sick.  They ran test and his cancer has spread three times as much since July's results.  The cancer was getting immune to the chemo treatments.  He is now on a more intense treatment.  He can not go back to work.  He is very ill.  He has lost a lot of weight.  Doesn't have an appetite and gets sick after eating.   His chemo treatments are scheduled until the end of December.  We are praying the results are going to be good after the treatments.  He just has to survive to the very end of this process and start healing after the new year.  His company will be terminating his employment because company policy is an employee can not miss more than 6 months from work.  He will have to get his own health insurance.

This picture of Johnny was taken last Thanksgiving when he was looking his best before he got sick.  I am looking forward to the day when he can get back to being healthy again.   Thank you again, for all the love and support that you have shown to my brother.   Please keep the letters and cards  of encouragment coming.  His address is:  2909 Cessna Drive, Virginia Beach, VA 23452.

I am still trying to reach our goal because of his serious financial situation.   Please share this post on your facebook so it can reach more people.  Thank you for participating on Johnny's  post.  Cancer is evil and please keep praying for his cancer to be beat!  Love you all, his sister, June Marshall, [phone redacted], [email redacted].
