John Kennedy's widow's fund

Charlene Kennedy, unexpectedly lost her husband of 38 years on April 2, 2017. John or Jake as he was known was a provider for his wife. He was the best father my brother Matt and I could ask for. He worked 6 days a week up until the day he died.  All he wanted to do was provide the best life he could for his wife and kids.  Even when he fell on hard times financially and was working his fingers to the bone he found ways to make us laugh.

He has been a milk man, a clam boat fishermen, run a baseball card shop, an appliance salesman and finally a window replacement salesman. Whatever he needed to do to keep his family afloat he did. And whenever he had a little extra he shared it.  After so many years of not being able to take time from work or spend anything on himself he took Charlene on a trip to upstate New York to do something they loved to do together, fish. They even went fishing as their honeymoon. The only pictures from their honeymoon are of him. Pictures my mom adoringly took of her husband.

On their recent trip I asked him to send me pictures as we was excitedly texting how great of a time they were having and how beautiful it was.  This is what he sent me:

He truly, loved his wife and children with all his heart. And while, in the end it was his heart that gave out I know that he would stay forever to do anything he could to try and ease our burden.

The family has banded together to help cover the staggering cost of a funeral and the remaining financial responsibilities as much as possible. Unfortunately, we have come up short.  We are starting this campaign to help her cover the costs for his arrangements and be able to settle his affairs without any further hardship for Charlene. He would have given his last cent to help those he loved and we pray that you will find it in your heart to help the person he loved most. Any amount, even the smallest donation, helps and is greatly appreciated.

Even if you can't contribute please share the link and maybe root for the Yanks, the Rangers,  or the Giants this year for a game or two.

My Dads generosity extended to animals as well. He owned many dogs in his lifetime, mostly rescues. Please share this post with like minded animal lovers too!
