John Ellisor's Fight for Life

John Ellisor is the kind of friend who never says no to anyone in need—that rare kind of human being who always does the right thing simply because it's the right thing to do!

When the shocking diagnosis of pulmonary sarcoma came in 2008, he was immediately life-flighted from Texas to California for surgery. Cancer of the heart is so rare that only one doctor in the nation has a successful track record. He did amazingly well and began the road to recovery. During this time friends and loved ones reached out to the family to do a fundraiser. John asked only that we pray for him and be there as a support to Connie and his daughters.

He felt blessed to have amazing healthcare and continued to work every day. Even on the days with chemo treatment, he worked until late at night at the office to make sure he never failed his family, company or friends. We have watched him do this for eight years, never complaining after enduring two heart surgeries, lung surgery, and countless rounds of chemo.

Just a few weeks ago his quarterly checkup came and the ugly monster raised its head. The cancer is back with a vengeance—this time in his lungs. Surgery was scheduled immediately. The Ellisor's were prepared for this, but not for the ULTIMATE BLOW. Two weeks later his company laid him off. Oilfield layoffs are becoming far too common, but we NEVER thought John would fall victim also. This time we didn't ask if we could help—we insisted.

John has been married to Connie for 23 years. They have two gorgeous daughters, McLean (Freshman at The University of Alabama) and Caroline (Sophomore at Klein Oak High School).
John has been a faithful husband, father, employee, and proud Aggie his entire life. He loves his family, friends, Texas A&M, cats, & crawfish!
