John's Post Surgery/No job

After 23 years of being employed at the same business last September I had to take my vacation and sick time to recover from carpal tunnel surgery.As a mechanic I need the use of my hands to work. In February I was diagnosed with a ventral hernia and needed surgery asap. Again  I would have to use my vacation and sick time because I would not get paid after any additional down time.The pain got so bad  I had to leave 4 days prior to my surgery on May 6th. At 60 years old and healing from surgery I can no longer do this type of work. There are no jobs at my pay scale $800.00 per week my rent is $1,500 a month and my monthly bills must be paid car payment,utilities, Insurance's etc the monies I am losing pays those bills. My wife is retired she's 67 and gets SSI and this is why I need this help   Thank  You
