Sunday September 2, 2018 Joe was doing the usual weekend fun and went to start a bon-fire. He made a gas trail as he always would to protect himself from lighting the entire fire up close. When the gas line was lit it was supposed to run down that line and ignite the fire. Due to the humidty, the air was very heavy and the vapors from the gas were not able to rise. When Joe lit the gas line it went to each side of the line and unfortunately Joe was standing within that range. The fire ignited him slightly which caused his hairs to burn and severe burns on his legs and feet. Joe went to Sharon Hospital the next day where they treated him and from there he was taken by Ambulance to Bridgeport Burn Center where he spent the last week. He has second degree burns that required him to have surgical skin grafts. Because of the burns and the pain associated with it Joe has had a hard time walking but it will come with time. He has to have nurses come in daily to change his dressings and assist with therapy. Between emergency visits, ambulance rides, hospital stays, nurse care and follow up visits the bills will pile up fast. At the same time he can not work because of the condition and potential medical issues that could come with it. Our goal is to help him and his fiance raise money to help pay for bills. Joe and his fiance are getting married next year and we do not want them worrying about these bills when they are trying to plan the wedding of the dreams. We want them to go worry free and enjoy their wedding day and put this terrible accident in the past. Please help share this and assist Joe and Kate. Anything will help :)
