Joseph Giangrande  POUGHQUAG, NY

I am a small farmer in the Hudson Valley New York. During Hurricane Irene, Super Storms Sandy and Lee, and the recent snowstorms of 2014 my farm was devastated! I not only lost all my greenhouses but I was forced to move my animals to another farm as well. I lost everything I had worked so tirelessly to build for the last 18 years.

Ever since the morning of Hurricane Irene, and the loss of my father, that very same morning, the road to recovery has been very difficult. I lost no power for 14 days; yet, despite this the state of NY and US government have done nothing to help me. In spite of all of this I kept moving forward with the little bit of crop I was left with.

Just when I thought I was getting back on my feet I was hit with Super Storm Sandy and the recent heavy snow. I lost the last of my greenhouses.

I just want to create a place for the community to come and have a good, locally grown product raised right here by a local farmer who has dedicated his heart to giving people what they deserve.

My customers vary from local folks to weekenders from NYC. Please donate to help keep my dream alive and come by for a visit to my farm at 1127 Route 216 in Poughquag, NY.

Thank You.
Joe

We were fortunate enough for two people to come by our 1127 RT 216 location. And one that has donated. We are a long way from where thing need to be. Please shop here or visit or help get us justice on the treatment we have been going through. We have been starting some salad greens but since we do not have oil or other things that are desperately needed we lost all the new seedlings. People please call out whoever because we have no help here from our Reps. I would imagine fighting for freedom and volunteering in the community feels worthless.

Thank You for your help. Without you this would not be possible. We are on our way to rebuilding the lost greenhouses.

Thank You we are trying to at least raise money to get a front door. Some of you might not know we were robbed a few nights ago. We do not have any kind of door. The money that has been raised so far went to two greenhouse coverings and that got destroyed on the last Snowstorms. So we did not have any plants or cut flowers for two years in a row now. As for getting a new greenhouse the Grant will run out very soon.

Thank You We are somehow going to make this work. We need to spread the word that I am on a mission to rebuilding these greenhouses and get the new Greenhouse high tunnel up so I can raise fresh produce for the public.

It has been a grueling 5 years. Today is December 26, 2016 we had the most pathetic Christmas season ever. A lot of false hope and promise but I am still here. I thank all that have supported. But I have not come close to what is needed here. Global Payments add to the mix it just killed me. Yes NBC helped get them to refund but it halted the farm in the process. So please share or stop by we have some things available. and some Farm machinery for sale.

Thank You to the most recent donation. We are no way close to what is needed to save the Farm. I am having a hard time making this work without the disaster relief promised twice by Senator Charles Schumer and the Farm Bill. I am trying to stay afloat here.

We made it to the new season. Unfortunately we will not be able to grow for the 5th year in a row. We are trying to get started but are no way near what is needed. I am currently cleaning all the mangled mess of greenhouse structure with one arm. That is why it has been looking like this. Please stop by we still have some items for sale.

Thank You for your support soon I will be able to put a new roof on both greenhouses. I still have a way to go with the main beams that collapsed.
