Joe's Journey for Life

Donation protected
A few years ago Joe Phillips, the father of one of my closest friends, was diagnosed with nonalcoholic steatohepatitis — a condition that involves inflammation and damage caused by a buildup of fat in the liver. Joe’s condition ultimately progressed into cirrhosis, causing his liver to deteriorate and not function properly.  Without a healthy, normal functioning liver it is impossible for someone to survive.

Joe is currently on the transplant list waiting for a new liver. However, in Pennsylvania there are not enough organ donors to meet the state’s needs and despite the amazing care he’s received from family, friends, and doctors, his health continues to decline.

In order to ensure that Joe’s journey for life is a successful one, his family has decided to relocate him to Florida where there is a shorter transplant list and better chance of him receiving a new liver.

Joe is an amazing husband, father, grandfather, and friend. He’s a quiet and humble man who would give anyone the shirt off his back if they needed it. He is only 59 years old and has a lot more life to live. Please help us make Joe's journey for a new liver a successful one by donating to this fund. All money raised will go towards relocation and living costs, as well as medical expenses associated with the transplant.

The family and I greatly appreciate any help you're able to give. And if you're unable to donate to this fund, we ask that you please consider registering to be an organ donor so other families do not have to go through this struggle.

With much love and gratitude,
Diana Quattrone, friend of the entire Phillips family
