Joe's medical cost

Joe is my husband. He is 38 years old and served his country. But because he was National Guard and became sick during a last training before going to war, he was released from the military and cannot use the V.A. However he served his 6 years and wanted it a life time career. He illnesses continued for years and we have been in a fight for v.a. benefits for years over this. They have managed to "lose" the records. He is now diagnosed with Graves disease and it is not a family disease. Ususally when a male gets Graves disease and it is not from family genetics, it is from chemical exposure. This has medically broke us. This is all due to  what happened during his training. He had to quit his Job because he was just too sick to go on and he must get the iodine radiation treatment in order to survive. We have bills from 2 doctors that are trying to work with us and they come to almost 1,000. together. We also now have an e.r. bill because his heart seemed to be going into cardiac arrest. The iodine radiation pill dose he will need will come to about 5000. plus. We have no ins. and we cannot get anything affordable. We have carried ins. for years and have spent all our money over the years to mostly medical. Please help us. I am so sorry to be asking, but I do not want to lose a wonderful husband and we cannot depend on the military ever coming through on this.... Medicaid is not an option because according to them "he is only 38" and it did not matter that he was very sick and needs this care.... anything will help and if you cannot donate, we completely understand....
