When bad things happen to good people like Joe, we need to lend a hand. Joe was at work at Quick Lube in Auburn when the estranged husband of a co-worker came armed with a loaded pistol to shoot her. Joe got in the way of the man and ended up "taking one for the team." Fortunately, no one else was injured.

Shot at close range in the chest, Joe was in critical condition when he was taken to the hospital. The prognosis is good for his recovery, but he sustained lung damage and will need an extended stay in the hospital. It is unclear how long Joe will need to be off from work.

That's where we come in. Joe's family will need help to make ends meet until he can get back to work. Although his medical costs will, hopefully, be covered,  his family will need help with rent, utilities, food and other costs.

Joe is pretty much the last guy who would ask for help. So let's get together as a community and make sure he is covered until he can get back to work.

Give what you can. Every bit helps!
