JOE BORRIS (Hope, Help & Prayers)

Donation protected
Joe (Matthew) Borris is a 20-year-old young man from Flatbush, AB.  He is the second youngest of five to Dan and Nicole Borris.  He works on the rigs and farms part time back home with his girlfriend Olivia.  Joe is a funny, caring and adventurous young man who spends his spare time with his family, hunting and rodeoing.  He is gifted in carpentry and mechanics and can often be found lending a helping hand to family and neighbors.

On October 20, 2018 Joe’s life changed as he knew it.  He suffered a serious trauma to his neck and spine when he fell from a tree.  After being airlifted to Edmonton, Joe underwent surgery to repair his compressed spinal cord, shattered C-5 and damaged C-6.  He remains in ICU and has just recently begun breathing without a respirator.

Joe’s family has asked for prayers and support by taking a few extra steps each day because Joe is unable to walk at this time.

The long term effects of this injury are still unknown.  Joe’s recovery will be a long journey and he will be unable to work while he recovers.  His family remains by his side while he will need ongoing medical support.

The Borris family is a generous and giving family who truly embody the phrase “give you the shirt off their back”.  Their volunteer work in the community, helpfulness with neighbours and kindness to others is inspiring.  Now is a time that they could use some support in return.  Please keep Joe in your prayers, walk a few extra steps each day and donate some money if you are able.  Thanks.
